Our Programs

START WITH HELLO

The Start With Hello program empowers students in grades K-12 to recognize loneliness and social isolation in their peers by offering effective strategies for reaching out and growing an empathetic and inclusive community.

SAY SOMETHING

Empowers students to grow a community of Upstanders and "say something" to a Trusted Adult when they recognize warning signs and threats.

Empowers students to be Upstanders. Students learn how to "say something" to a Trusted Adult and submit a tip to the Say Something ARS when they recognize warning signs and threats.

Other Ways to Get Involved

Students Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE) Promise Club is a student-led organization in elementary, middle, and high schools. Youth are empowered to co-create, lead, and advocate for safer schools, homes, and communities by continually reinforcing the key messages of Start with Hello and Say Something

Promise Leaders

Promise Leader volunteers work proactively to prevent gun violence by building awareness, promoting the Know the Signs programs in schools and youth organizations, advocating for sensible violence prevention and school safety policies, and fundraising so that Sandy Hook Promise can continue to provide flexible programming options.
